Inspiring the Next Generation: Financial Literacy at Bishop McCort

June 02, 2025

Robert Sekerak of Carpenter Financial Services recently joined co-owner Joseph Carpenter for a return visit to Bishop McCort High School, where they spoke with students about foundational money principles like saving, investing, and setting financial goals.

“It’s inspiring to see how engaged these students are,” said Sekerak. “Even small steps taken now can lead to real financial confidence down the road.”

The visit is part of Carpenter Financial’s ongoing support of financial education in the community. Bishop McCort students are currently learning from the Foundations in Personal Finance curriculum by Ramsey Education—a program sponsored by Joseph Carpenter, a McCort alumnus, since 2021.

Carpenter added, “Returning to my alma mater and investing in these students' futures is incredibly meaningful. These lessons give them the tools to take control of their finances for life.”

By sharing practical insights alongside the classroom curriculum, Joe and Robert hope to inspire students to make smart financial choices. Carpenter Financial Services remains committed to giving back and helping young people grow in knowledge and confidence.
