Income Tax Preparation
Carpenter Financial Services began as an accounting and tax preparation firm in 1953. After preparing multiple income tax returns, we realized that people need help navigating the tax system and also with their long-term investment* strategy.
When preparing tax returns, you are working on what has already happened. We uncovered many situations that could have been avoided just by tweaking their investments or income distribution strategies. That’s why we transitioned and began offering financial services. This is what separates Carpenter Financial Services from other firms. We are able to proactively provide our clients with tax efficient investment* strategies to help reach their goals in retirement. We work closely with our clients to make sure their investments* and income plans have the best tax savings strategies.
We still offer minimal tax preparation services at our discretion. If you have less than 12 tax documents, it may be time to call a Carpenter.
Documentation we accept:
- W-2 Employment income
- 1099-DIV Dividends, capital gains from investment accounts
- 1099-INT Interest income
- 1099-R Investment income
- 1095 Health coverage
- 1098 Mortgage interest
- 1098-T College tuition
The minimum tax preparation fee is $275 and will vary based on the complexity of the income tax return subject to the preparer’s discretion. Each return will be completed by a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
A CPA is a certified public accountant who is licensed by a state board of accountancy. To earn the prestige associated with the CPA license, you are required to demonstrate knowledge and competence by meeting high educational standards, passing the CPA exam and completing one year of experience in the field.
We strive to prepare high quality tax returns while giving sound investment* advice.
